SHSMD26 Connections Scholarship Program

Applications for 2026 are now closed. All applicants were notified of a decision in August.

The scholarship application deadline has passed, and all applicants have been notified. Early-bird rates will be honored for those who applied but were not selected.  Scholarship recipients are required to provide proof of confirmed travel arrangements (transportation and hotel) within two weeks of receiving their award notification.

Scholarships: What You Need to Know

SHSMD proudly offers the SHSMD Connections Scholarship Program to provide tuition assistance for health care strategists seeking to grow their expertise and connections. In 2026 SHSMD offered scholarships for the following events:

  • 2026 SHSMD Connections In-Person Conference
    September 27-29 | Baltimore, MD
    (Please note: Transportation and lodging are not included)
  • 2026 SHSMD Connections Virtual
    Recordings released November 2

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a current SHSMD member in good standing
    (Non-members may apply but must join SHSMD if selected)
  • Work in health care strategy, including marketing, communications, planning, public relations, or business development

Scholarship Criteria

Applicants are evaluated based on:

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Clear rationale for attending and expected benefits, such as:
    • Relevant experience and job responsibilities
    • Professional development goals
    • Interest in SHSMD involvement
